The lady with the low voice

Viola

The viola looks like a large violin in terms of its construction, however it sounds much lower and warmer than its sister, the violin. The viola’s tone is thicker and darker than the violin which makes it perfect for providing resonant solo passages in the middle of the orchestral range and the perfect antidote to the penetrating, crystal quality of the violin.

When choosing to study the viola, it is vital that the correct technique be learnt from the onset. That is why it is so important to study this instrument with a seasoned musician. At the NW Musikon, our viola students are trained by our own virtuoso, Wim Wybenga, a violin specialist with more than 30 years experience in playing. Thus you can rest assured that your child will receive only the best quality education.
